Last year, Nathan became the club’s first player to reach 50 season goals in a decade. He finished with a grand total of 64, 4 of them during the playoff title run. From all competitions, in addition to the goal scoring output, he added 37 assists for a total of 101 points; the first Flames player across a 3 digit total since 2000-2001. During his opening campaign in Surrey the previous season, despite missed time due to a head injury, Nathan had 69 points thanks to 40 goals and 29 helpers for his part in the team’s Premier Cup title. In 119 appearances with the outfit, Nathan has 170 points from 104 goals and 66 assists. He moved to Spectrum after a pair of seasons with the Peterborough Phantoms where he was a league leader in goals and points with more than 50 and 100, respectively, while charging his club to the league, cup and playoff titles during their devastation of all comers in 2008-2009. Nathan’s initial UK stint lasted 1 year. After icing with the then Pirates of Peterborough in 1998-1999, he returned to his Canadian roots to join the country’s national team for the 1999-2000 set. He followed that with a season split between the International Hockey League’s Manitoba Moose and the East Coast Hockey League’s Florida Everblades and Greensborough Generals. He remained in the ECHL for the 2001-2002 & 2002-2003 campaigns, both with the Louisiana Ice Gators, where he played 127 games; his best season the latter when he had 25 goals and 28 assists in 67 outings. In autumn 2003 he returned to British soil to take up a spot with the Bracknell Bees, plugging 66 points in 50 starts to help advance his club to the playoff finals. He skated the next two seasons with Cardiff Devils before a short lived transfer to the London Racers in 2006-2007 ended with a return to the Wales outfit to complete part of a 3rd season ahead of his 2nd stint in Peterborough. In addition to international duty in his country of birth, Nathan has pulled on a British uniform. He skated at the World championships with Team GB in 2007, netting 3 goals in 5 tournament games and appeared in the Mont Blanc Euro Challenge in February 2008.
