Canadian Defenceman Karl Boudrias will join Flames when the new season begins in late August.  The 6’0”, 200lb blueliner spent last season and the bulk of the previous term at Belfast Giants where he was part of back to back league titles, and the 24-25 Cup trophy, while posting 42 points from 12 goals and 30 assists across 116 starts.

After 246 games through 5 major junior hockey seasons with Rimouski Océanic, Val-d'Or Foreurs, and Chicoutimi Saguenéens, the 26 year old kicked off his pro career during the 21-22 set at ECHL Worcester Railers and South Carolina Stingrays. The native of Chateauguay, Quebec opened his senior account with 4 goals and 11 assists in 44 games.  He remained in the league for the 22-23 and 23-24 campaigns with Tulsa Oilers where he recorded 58 points in 133 appearances.

“Karl has a variety of strengths to his game,” said Head Coach Paul Dixon. “He can chip in at the offensive side of the ice, but he is a solid defender and finishes checks.”

“He had an excellent pair of seasons helping Belfast Giants to no shortage of silver and we believe his brand of hockey can be part of helping us achieve our objectives for the coming schedule.”
