December 5th at Cardiff Devils - League

A table point was secured through regulation at Cardiff, and the Flames managed to put aside an early overtime penalty to take the draw to the last bit of OT, but a Gleason Fournier strike 36 seconds from penalties secured a 4-3 win for the home team.

Less than 3 minutes into the contest, Evan Ritt had Spectrum’s men holding a lead that would survive through the close of the frame.

Around 7 minutes into the 2nd, Layne Ulmer converted a Devils powerplay to bring the score level.  The Flames went ahead by a pair thanks to Kruise Reddick and Evan Janssen a couple of minutes apart beyond the halfway point, but a Charles Linglet answer at 34:20 cut the Welsh side’s deficit to a single to start the 3rd

The league champs squared it just under 6 minutes into the final set thanks to Joey Martin which set the stage for the Fournier decider.

“Any time you drop points you feel disappointed, but on the other hand not many teams are getting points in their building, so we can look at the positive side of taking one home,” said Head Coach Paul Dixon.

“It was a great end to end kind of game, and compared to some of our recent games we put in much better effort and we feel good about that part.”

“We had a good team performance that could have won the game, and we have to be positive about what we did on the ice on top of not going home empty handed.”
