Kallen joins Flames
American Defenceman Nate Kallen will return to EIHL this season as a member of the Flames blue line group. The 28 year old made his UK debut in 2023-24 with Glasgow Clan where he had 6 goals and 27 points in 48 starts. Except for an 8 game stint last season at Vienna Capitals, the 6’0”, 190lb skater spent the last pair of seasons at ECHL Tahoe Knight Monsters where he posted 12 goals and 44 assists in 118 games. In 4 NCAA seasons at Ferris State University, from 2016 to 2020, the native of San Diego, California, iced 146 times while reaching 20 goals and 64 points. He made his pro debut at the end of his final collegiate term when he iced 3 games with ECHL Maine Mariners. In the 3 ECHL seasons that followed, Kallen iced with Mariners and Rapid City Rush, but also had a short call up to AHL Springfield Falcons during the 21-22 set before completing 22-23 with his EU debut when he had 5 assists in 16 games at Slovakian side HC Slovan Bratislava. “Nate had an excellent season at Glasgow when he had his first tour of our league a few years ago,” said Head Coach Paul Dixon. “He is a Right handed shot Defenceman who can move the puck and we think his overall game will be a help in improving our Defensive units. He is only 28 but comes in as a very experienced pro player and we are looking forward to the impact that we know he will have on our club, game in and game out.” |
