Recap Flames fought for a 3rd period comeback but ultimately fell to a 6–4 defeat against Coventry Blaze at the Skydome Arena. The hosts made a flying start, scoring twice inside the opening five minutes to establish an early advantage thanks to Jaxson Esman on the powerplay, and Griffin Ness. They extended their lead near the midway mark through Márkó Csollák during a stretch of 4 on 4 play, and added another from William Boysen to take a commanding 4-0 spread into the final frame. Flames finally found their breakthrough just 1:33 into the third period when Jordan Power had their opener. Seconds later, however, Jack Hopkins had the 4 goal difference on the board and a quick follow up from Ness made it 6-1. Chase Gresock at 46:10 and Cole Sanford less than 2 minutes later cut the deficit. A 5 on 3 poweprlay strike by Nate Kallen made it a 2 goal affair, but that would remain as the clock ran out to close the evening. Gallery |
