Netminder Jake Kupsky will return for a 2nd Flames term. The 6’3”, 195lb American made 27 league starts and posted a 2.96 goals against average with a 91.6 save percentage following a year at Slovakian side Zvolen where he averaged 2.94 goals against and a 91 save percentage in 44 games.

After a junior season with NAHL Lone Star Brahmas in 2014-2015, where he was drafted in the 7th round by the NHL’s San Jose Sharks, Kupsky embarked on a 4 year NCAA career at Union College.  In 59 games, the 29 year old posted a 90 save percentage and a 2.86 goals against average and was an NCAA, ECAC conference, 3rd All-Star Team award winner during the 2017-2018 set.

He made his pro start in 2019-2020 in SPHL before spending the bulk of his American minor pro career in ECHL along with a brief stint at AHL Abbotsford Canucks ahead of his Slovak overseas debut.  His pro run includes selection as an ECHL league All-Star and the Brabham Cup as league champions.

“We thought Jake had an excellent opening EIHL season with us,” said Paul Dixon.

“On top of that, he is a great teammate with a great attitude and he every day he is here he wants to compete for more opportunities to show himself.”

“We are pleased that Jake enjoyed his time with us and we are looking forward to seeing more of him when the season gets underway.”
